Sensei Harry Charache
Sensei Harry Charache has been teaching martial arts for over 40 years. Over that time he has taught groups such as 70 local police departments when he worked with the NH Municipal Assurance, the National SWAT Team of Ecuador, elementary and middle schoolers in 30 different schools, and the students at his own school for 33 years. Sensei Harry Charache has trained in Isshin Ryu Karate and has achieved the rank of 8th dan Black Belt making him a master at his style. He started his training under Joseph Jennings in Rochester New York in 1979 soon after he graduated from college with his teaching degree. Since then he has trained under students that were taught by the founder of Isshin Ryu to better advance his teaching and martial arts skills. In 1989 Sensei Harry started his own school in the Seacoast area which has now become the multi-discipline martial arts academy On-Site Family Martial Arts.
During his time as an instructor, Sensei Harry has trained over 200 black belts. One of the passions that drive him to continue teaching is his love of watching kids and adults alike grow up to be their best selves and not be afraid to fail. He highlights this philosophy with one of his favorite sayings “seven times down eight times up.” His students make up a range of capabilities, including those with Autism or deafness and a 10 time world tournament champion and movie stunt double.
