Kuhapdo is a Korean sword art that has its roots in the Japanese art of Muso Jikiden Eishin-ryu Iaido. The style of Kuhapdo that we practice is Chung Suk Kuhapdo. Chung Suk Kuhapdo was developed by Grand Master Lim, Hyun Soo, president of the Korea Jung Ki Hapkido and Kuhapdo Association located in Daegu, South Korea. Chung Suk Kuhapdo places an emphasis on dynamic fighting motions. The Chung Suk Kuhapdo curriculum includes the core Iaido forms, Chung Suk long forms, partner forms, basic practice forms and target cutting.

Master Emery has been making yearly trips to Korea since 1999 where he studies Hapkido and Kuhapdo under Grand Master Lim, Hyun Soo.

Grand Master Lim is 9th dan in Hapkido promoted by the founder of Hapkido, Choi, Yong Sul.

5th dan Hapkido 3rd dan Kuhapdo Master Emery is a 5th dan Hapkido Instructor at On-site Family Martial Arts Center. Master Emery also holds a 4th dan in Taekwondo, and 3rd dan in Kuhapdo (sword).
